Arctic Rainbow Mustache Monkey

Today I walked with the second graders (in the rain of course) over to the art museum. We had a fine time. We got to see lots of photos from the Amazon rain forest which inspired the kids to create their own animals. My youngest made an Arctic Rainbow Mustache Monkey which of course I thought was too cute!
They are piling up…

She is still hard at work using the glue gun and popsicle sticks! What am I going to do with all of these?
Glue gun glee

Glue, gun, glee… say that ten times fast!
My youngest has finally been given the priviledge of using a glue gun and she is one happy camper! Who knew you could do so much with some glue and a few (a box of 1000!) popsicle sticks!

So after spending a day making stuff out of clay, we had to go spend over an hour painting it all! Whew…
I was quite surprised at how well all the pieces fired, I thought for sure some of them would end up exploding in the kiln from air bubble, but happily that did not happen.
