No jury duty for me!

No foolin’, I’ll probably be enjoying our local courthouse on April Fool’s Day. I have to call tonight to see if I need to show up, although I suspect that I will. I have not decided what to do about the update… I’ll decide tonight, check back if you want to stay in the know…

Update – No trials tomorrow… I’m off the hook! Woohoo! I’ll be back tomorrow with new glass goodies at 11:30.

Art camp 2008

This year my youngest finally got to go… it was a great week and I always love to see how artistic my kids are! :D

Whew!

So today I was ready for a happy day of melting boro… I have not made any boro beads in over 2 weeks, so I was kind of excited. I switched over to my boro torch, hooked up the O2 tanks, cleared all the soft glass off my desk and loaded it up with boro rod, sat down and went to put on my glasses when *gasp* where are they?! I have a rule, glasses never leave the shop, so if they are not with the boro rod, where are they? I searched all over my shop and I could not find them anywhere… now panic is setting in, they cost about $200 so losing them would be a bit painful… I decide that I better check in my house… and this is no small feat since I don’t have the most tidy home… of course I could not find my glasses anywhere! Argh! So I unhook my torch, put all the soft glass back, try to work in soft glass all day but I am totally distracted by finding these glasses! Finally I think, okay, whatever, let it go. I fetch my girls from art camp, get busy with them, forget about the glasses, go to find some shoes and *voila* there are my glasses. :) Isn’t that how it always works?! Sigh… I might be a little sad that I didn’t get much done today because I was so worried about finding my specs but I am just so happy that I found them that it doesn’t matter! Ha!

New beads are up!

I just added a few new sets to my store. Take a peek if you have a minute… I’m SOOO in love with making the murrine work in the flowers. :D Doing the happy dance over that, I’m sure I’ll be stuck on that idea for the next week or so. My store host just made a bunch of new changes so it took me forever to add beads today, why do they always want to “help” with making random rules? Sigh… Oh well… I’m off to buy some glass, I’ve let myself run out of black! Have a great Tuesday!

Happy Easter.

Here is one bunny as of 8:37 this morning. I gave in to all the asking… :) Apparently our Easter breakfast consists of chocolate fairy bunnies. Hope your day was sweet too…

I can't cook.

Apparently the only oven I can properly work is a kiln… :) Oh well, what can you do?!

King of Kong.

So I’m watching King of Kong – A fistful of quarters. this morning and somehow it makes me feel hopeful. Given recent events in my life I have been thinking a lot about the “meaning of it all” and I certainly have not come to any conclusions, but this movie made me smile because it shows people being passionate about something, namely old school video games. I guess it strikes a chord because I sort of think that is a silly passion. Certainly there are more altruistic interests out there, but really can we pick our passion? I don’t think so. So it was nice to see people living their out their dream despite what most people might think… Kudos to the passionate, be it silly or not!. :D
