Sand cake.

Hmmm… Do you think my girls are watching a little too much food network? They were so cute how they mixed the sand and water on the sidewalk just like it was flour and water… heehee… :D

Boro is fun!

I finally got a chance to make some beads today. I’m really stuck on playing with boro! I just love going out to the kiln and being surprised at what I find! :D Anyway, I thought that I better share a little eye candy with ya’. Hope your week is going well. Things here are still settling back into a flow. It is amazing how a little relaxation can throw everyone outa whack! Heehee… Anyway, enjoy your night!

I’m melting…

Really, 97 is just outa control for Oregon in June!! Actually it is outa control for anytime here! Eeeek! I can’t make beads in this heat and I’m still up to my eyeballs in laundry from our trip to Sunriver so I think I’ll aim to have my first real update to the Mart next week. I’ll of course send you an email to let you know I’m back. I hope that you are having some pleasant weather in your neighborhood! :D

We are home.

It was hard to return home after a week of doing nothing… but here we are. Friends came up for the weekend with their boys which was wonderful!! The kids spent most of the time looking for lizards. Now off to unpack and get ready for the week. Hope that you had a great weekend!! I’ll also see what pics I can dig up! :D

Hot Springs

You know, when I think hot springs, an image of a babbling brook pops into my mind with a little pool of warm water off to the side, something magical and oh so beautiful. Practically speaking, this isn’t always the case I guess. In fact, a hot spring can be found in bug infested MUCK! I now know that when we hike I need to make sure it is short, flat, and HAS NO BUGS!! Oh my gosh, I have new respect for people on Survivor, apparently my bug tolerence is VERY low!! The walk out was beautiful, the mountains were gorgeous, we found snow along the road in June, pretty amazing! I was in my nature happy place and thought this is great. But apparently our walk into the wilderness woke up all the bugs and I just wanted to run back to the car. Okay, I stood out there as long as I could, and then I kinda did run back to the car where I sat with the windows rolled up even in the heat. I know, I’m a sissy! :D The girlies were troopers, they had fun, it was an adventure… although there was much screaming from my youngest about the bugs as well, it must be a genetic trait! Heehee… I think tomorrow will hold less wilderness for me!!

Lotsa family fun!

It was a fun day for the kiddos! We went to the the High Desert Museum where they got to run amok (because it is outside) and see lots of animals. I know, the pics are not to great, but the wee ones love looking at them on my blog so I thought I’d toss ‘em in! After the museum there was swimming and I got to relax in the hot tub a bit. :D My kinda vacation… Tomorrow we are off on an adventure to find some hot spring, I’ve been told the hike is flat and we shall see if that is true. It isn’t that I don’t like to hike, but DH loves to hike so his idea of flat and short can sometimes be a bit off for what the rest of us would consider flat and short!!

The view

We made it! Isn’t Oregon beautiful?! We drove through the mountains and I tried to capture pictures with the snow and forest… alas, technical difficulties prevailed… but now we can just relax in the high desert with the hot tub! Woohoo! :D
